PERFORMING ARTS FUND NL PRESENTS THE ‘FAST FORWARD’ PROGRAMME

30 December 2014
The Performing Arts Fund NL’s new programme, ‘Fast Forward: talent in international context’, will launch on 1 January 2014. Through this programme, the Fund gives talented makers the opportunity to work under the supervision of an international host for some time. The programme will run for three years, from 2014 through 2016. The Minister of Culture has made an amount of 1.1 million euros available for the programme.
‘Fast Forward’ is the result of the vision document ‘Cultuur beweegt’, by the Minister of Culture, Jet Bussemaker. In this document, the Minister asks cultural funds to develop a programme geared to developing talent in an international context. Each of the cultural funds has developed its own programme in response; the Performing Arts Fund NL has settled on a programme that links up talented makers with significant foreign parties. These can be renowned international companies or important venues or festivals. The programme participants will not only have the opportunity to work on a specific project under the supervision of the foreign host, but they can also use the final result to present themselves on the international stage. This will help the makers make a significant step in their development.

The programme is fleshed out further by an intendant. The intendant will actively seek out candidates and will link these to foreign hosts. The Fund aims to announce the intendant and the further procedure at the start of 2014.
